Who is Ben W. Murch?
Ben W. Murch was a well respected educator. He moved from Maine to Washington, DC in 1887. Murch served as a principal and administrator for D.C. Public Schools from 1887 to 1927. Murch's favorite quotation was, "Give the world the best you have and the best will come back to you." On May 2, 1930, Ben W. Murch was honored by having an elementary school in the District named after him. That school is located in Northwest D.C. at 36th Street, between Davenport and Ellicott streets. |
